Systems Development

Systems Development is Campus Facilities' information technology unit. The unit strives to optimally apply IT resources and knowledge to satisfy the needs and fulfill the business goals of Campus Facilities.

Systems Development provides support to CF employees working in various buildings, parking structures and construction trailers stationed across campus. Systems Development provides primary user support services to approximately 500 CF employees. The unit also provides secondary user support services to about 170 additional employees. The unit works with the CF Training Unit to provide classroom or individualized training on the 30-plus software packages that are used to fulfill CF's general mission to the University of Missouri.

Secure, encrypted, wireless internet service is also provided inside the General Services Building for use by employees, consultants, contractors, and visitors (Log-in information for guests is available at the main GSB reception desk).

Custom software development and support

Projex, an in-house-developed software package, provides a time-efficient and cost-saving solution for managing campus construction projects. Projex is used by all UM System campuses.
IBM Maximo, enterprise asset management (EAM) software, is used throughout CF as a tool for work management, cost tracking, and customer billing. Systems Development serves as a primary resource in the implementation of Maximo. The CF Customer Service Center relies upon Maximo to efficiently respond to the needs of faculty, staff, and students. Preventive maintenance programs facilitated by Maximo extend the service life of necessary equipment and help reduce MU's operational expenses.
