Health Care Construction Certificate
Effective July 1, 2020, all contractors performing construction work in a University of Missouri Health Care facility will be required to employ supervisory staff possessing a valid Health Care Construction Certificate (HCC). The HCC certificate workshop shall be administered by the American Society for Health Care Engineering of the American Hospital Association (www.ashe.org) or an equal program approved by the University. This requirement applies to all contractors, (GC’s, electrical, mechanical, elevator, etc.) who hold a direct contract with the University. At a minimum, supervisory personnel shall be the contractor’s project manager and superintendent. This requirement will apply to projects advertised for bids after July 1, 2020. If you intend to submit bids on MU Health Care projects after July 1, 2020, it is your responsibility to secure the necessary certificates.
Aug. 5, 2020 Update
The HCC equivalent training workshops are currently postponed until further notice. The July 1 effective date for project managers and superintendents to complete the training will be extended at some point in the future. An update, with available training workshop dates, will be posted at a later date.
