Fire Safety Inspections

EHS conducts fire safety inspections of all university buildings on a routine basis. The goal of these inspections is to identify and remedy any impediments to life, environment or property from the effects of fire.

An EHS representative will contact individual Building Coordinators to schedule a building inspection. At the appointment, the Building Coordinator (or their designee) will escort EHS during the inspection to evaluate the safety of each building. Once completed, an inspection report will be emailed to the Building Coordinator as well as Campus Facilities Maintenance, or Residential Life Building Maintenance, or Design & Construction Services as appropriate.

Once improvements have been made, the Building Coordinator and the applicable Maintenance Service Division will email the corrected inspection report back to EHS.

For questions or to request an inspection, contact Shawn McGruder, 884-9209.
