2016 United Way partner agencies

Heart of Missouri United Way is proud to partner with the following organizations to deliver positive, lasting change in our region. These agencies have been awarded funds through the Heart of Missouri United Way’s Community Impact Fund. These agencies:

  • Submit an annual results report, which is reviewed and evaluated by HMUW volunteers;
  • Submit annual audits, reviewed by a volunteer committee comprising CPAs and HMUW volunteers; &
  • Are certified as Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3) tax exempt, are USA Patriot Act compliant and provide health and human services.


Increase the number of households that utilize:

  • Community resources aimed at increasing both soft and hard employment skills
  • Affordable transportation and childcare to enable employment, healthcare, social services and daily living activities
  • Educational programs on how to save and spend money wisely
  • Resources or services aimed at finding and maintaining affordable housing


Increase the number of youth who:

  • Eat well and are physically active
  • Avoid teen pregnancy, substance abuse and smoking
  • Access physical, mental and dental health care services


Support crisis and intervention services providing:

  • Basic needs
  • Personal safety services for individuals/families who face threats to their immediate well-being including, but not limited to, domestic violence, child abuse and sexual assault
  • Coordinated information and referral services
